Dexter Payne

My Story

Dexter Payne (bansuri, clarinet, flute, sax) has performed throughout the US, and in 11 countries in the Western Hemisphere, including France, Taiwan and Singapore. He has been featured on NBC's Today Show, Prairie Home Companion and The David Letterman Show (when it was aired live in Indianapolis on Sunday mornings). He has been recognized in Downbeat Readers Poll and International Blues Challenge.

 

He has been a regular part of Bhakti Shakti Kirtan since 2017, and has a special affinity for the many Durga chants. And more than anything, he loves the silent meditation after every chant.
